    International Economics and Trade

    Established in 1997, the Department of International Economics and Trade at Guangxi University's School of Economics/China-ASEAN Institute of Financial Cooperation primarily cultivates advanced specialized talents capable of mastering the fundamental theories and practical skills of international trade. Graduates are equipped with a comprehensive understanding of prevailing international trade rules, conventions, and China's foreign trade policies and regulations. They are prepared to engage in practical business, management, research, and promotional planning in foreign economic and trade departments, foreign-invested enterprises, and government agencies.

    International Trade Studies is a key discipline at Guangxi University, with the undergraduate program in International Economics and Trade being among the first batch of national-level first-class discipline construction sites. It is also a key construction program at Guangxi University, emphasizing the integration of teaching and research. In the 2023 Soft Science China National Rankings, it was rated as an A-level program, being one of the eight A-level programs at Guangxi University.

    The Department of International Economics and Trade currently consists of 12 faculty members, including 6 professors, 1 researcher, 3 associate professors, and 2 assistant professors. It offers undergraduate programs in International Economics and Trade, master's degree programs in International Trade, and master's degree programs in International Business, as well as a doctoral program in International Trade. In terms of teaching, the department undertakes numerous provincial undergraduate teaching reform projects and graduate education reform projects, and has published textbooks such as "International Trade - Theory and Policy" (English version) and "Intermediate International Economic Cooperation". It has won multiple awards for teaching achievements at both the regional and university levels. In terms of research, the department has undertaken multiple national and provincial research projects. Since 2012, faculty members have led 13 national-level projects, including 7 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and 6 projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation. Over the years, the department's faculty members have published and contributed to numerous influential academic works, totaling 47 books and over 200 papers. Their policy recommendations have been adopted multiple times by government agencies such as the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of the Autonomous Region.
